This writer would love to make her favorite hobby her full-time job...

...but I am a wife and mother, just trying to make it through parenthood (like so many others out there). And that is what this blog centers around: My family. I try to make my mundane, every day experiences as entertaining and well-written as possible. This mom job is tough...and I will never claim that I am doing it right. But I am trying my best, learning as I go and chronicling our adventures as a family in the process. It is the most important and rewarding job I will ever have. Being a parent might be the source of my writer's block...but there is honestly nothing else I would rather write about!

Cute Cooper

Cooper has been on fire with all of the funny things he's been saying lately:

On Saturday at the TOT game, I think the whole college basketball game concept was a little overwhelming for the kids at first. After we had been there for a little bit, Jay took Cooper to the bathroom. On their way, Coop asked, "So, are the basketball players out there so the TOTs have time to rest?" I mean, is that hysterical or what?! Ha! I guess we need to take him to more basketball games in the future so he knows what's going on.

Yesterday while running errands, I heard this from the backseat: "Mommy, how does a baby get in a mom's belly? I mean, like really inside of it? Is it like some seed that gets in there and grows and grows and then pops out?" Seriously, that is what he asked. I literally was just driving along in shock. I mean, you didn't actually think I would come up with an appropriate answer on the spot, did you? I chanced a peek in my rear view mirror...and saw that he was cracking up. He was laughing so hard that he couldn't breathe. I asked him if someone had told him that (and the obvious follow-up question: Who told you that?), but between giggles he assured me no one told him any of that. It was like he had just thought up the best joke on the planet! Way to keep me on my toes, Coop. And almost run us off the road in the process.

I had to take my glasses to be tightened up a little at the eye doctor yesterday. I was chatting with the glasses lady and letting her know what needed to be done. When I turned around, I saw this cutie:
Good thing he looks cute in them...he has a 50/50 shot of having to wear them for real in the not-too-distant future!
